Kitty Ride Directions
- From the parking lot travel southwest out Mountain House Rd for one Mile. Stop, turn around and head back to the parking lot. Instead of going into the parking lot, continue down Felix Creek Rd to the end, about 3 miles. Turn around and head back towards the start for 1. 5 miles and turn west on road 110 until the second bridge. Turn around and return the start. Total distance about 10 miles.
DeathRide Directions
Pass One - "real real easy"
The ride starts from the parking at the Crushed Grape Restaurant. From the parking lot head east crossing Highway 101 to 175. Go up 175 to Old Toll Road and turn right. Go to the end of the paved road. You have gone 5.8 miles and climbed 340 feet. Turn around and head back to 175.
Pass Two - "gets a little tough"
From the intersection of 175 and Toll Road, head east out 175 to the top. You have now gone a total of 15.6 miles and climbed 1040 feet. You are a damn near decent cyclist. Turn around and take 175 back to the intersection of River Road. Here you decide to go on to the third pass, or limp back to the parking lot.
Pass Three - "very short, steep, and lots of cute sheep"
Head north on River Rd to University. Go up University to the top and down the other side about a mile. This is a very short climb, but steep. You now have a total of 27.5 miles and climbed 1640 feet. Head back to the parking lot for some well deserved refueling. If you only go this far, you are still a damn near decent cyclist/person. No matter what your friends/family may think.
Pass Four - "beautiful climb"
From the parking lot take a left on Felix Creek rd and then a right on Mountain House road to the top. You have now gone 36.7 miles and climbed 2720 feet. Turn around and return to Felix Creek road.
Pass Five - "long, steep, false hill tops"
Take Felix Creek Road and turn left on Rd 110. This gets real steep. Go to the end of the pavement. You have climbed over 5,000 ft and gone 47.8 miles.Turn around and head back to the parking lot. Get some lunch, pick up your raffle items you won, and relax. You are now an official Mendo Deathrider complete with all honors and privileges that title bestows.
